Description

"mpa and its metabolites were analysed as follows:
C18 column (4.6 x 150 mm, 5µ ) was eluted with an water/methanol mobile phase, where the concentration of methanol was linearly increased from 52 to 80% methanol over 20 min. The flow rate was set at 1 ml/min and the UV detection wavelength was set at 254 nm.
The eluent was introduced into the MS instrument with a split ratio of 1:4. The mass spectrometer was a TSQ triple quadrupole (Thermo Fisher Scientific, Waltham, MA) equipped with an electrospray ionization interface. The spray voltage was set at 4.5 kV, and the capillary temperature was 300°C. The auxiliary and nebulizing gas was Nitrogen. The nebulizing gas backpressure was set at 40 psi, and auxiliary gas was set at 20 (arbitrary units). A full MS scans between m/z 200 and 500 was performed to observe the molecular ions."
